UFC 148 Silva vs Sonnen 2 Fight Picks & Predictions

So much of the hype surrounding the much anticipated rematch between longtime UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen stems from the compelling case made by the No.1 contender in their initial encounter.

Now only did Sonnen dominate Silva for almost five full rounds, his performance was historic in many ways than one. As we prepare for fight night, the Ultimate Fighting Championship has released the following video titled “UFC 148: The Stat Line.”

Much like in boxing’s CompuBox numbers, this video statistically shows just how dominant Sonnen really was against arguably the greatest mixed martial artist that’s ever lived.

For six years Silva was not only unbeaten, but more so untouchable. This guy is 14-0 in the UFC including 9 title defenses and with 22 of his 29 victories coming by stoppage.

But for one night, the reigning pound-for-pound king found himself on the receiving end of one of the most one-sided fights in UFC history. Before this fight, Sonnen, who was a huge underdog, promised that it would be a “one-sided pounding and I’m swinging the hammer,” and that’s exactly what he did.

Nevertheless, the former 2-time NCAA wrestling national champion is still getting no respect from MMA oddsmakers. Much like in their first fight, Sonnen will once again enter the Octagon as a mammoth betting odds underdog against Silva.

At the present time, the Brazilian is being listed as a -270 money-line favored over Sonnen who’s at a standstill at +210 ML. But when you watch this video two things happen that no one can deny: (1) Sonnen absolutely destroyed Silva and (2) he can certainly do it again!
