In just a matter of hours we will know which two teams will be competing for the right to become the 2012 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Champions! Tonight’s late cap will feature the two most talented non-top seeds to enter the 2012 NCAA Tournament, as the Ohio State Buckeyes face the Kansas Jayhawks.
This exciting 2012 Final Four picks contest is scheduled to tip off tonight at 8:49 PM ET on CBS Sports. According to college basketball oddsmakers, the Buckeyes are listed as favorites to win this game. The latest Final Four point spreads have OSU winning this game by a two-point bucket. In addition, the OVER/UNDER is set at a combined total of 136 points.
Although many people are high on Ohio State as a pick in this game, the Jayhawks have been gaining fans this past week. After winning an eighth consecutive Big 12 title this year, the Jayhawks entered the tourney confident that they would be right where they are today.
Coming off a very impressive victory over the top-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels, Bill Self & Co. are just two wins away from their second NCAA title in four years. Going for the program’s fourth overall national title, coach Self has instilled an air of confidence on his players that has translated into success beyond his own expectations.
“I think this would have been a year if we got to the second weekend, most Kansas faithful would be happy,” Self said. “But I don’t think those guys are satisfied or would ever think that. I think they think this is our year and I’m certainly not going to tell them differently. This team is pretty tough. Nothing fazes them. No matter what the situation is, they just think that they’re going to figure it out.”
