College Football Rankings 2011 Week 7

oklahoma sooners college football rankingsThe 2011 College Football Rankings heading into week 7 are featuring a group of Top 10 teams that sits in the same exact order after this weekend’s hectic NCAA football picks action, as they were at the end of last week’s games. The team that dropped the most this week is the Texas Longhorns, who slid all the way down to No.22 after getting thrashed by Oklahoma and their concern will now lie within the Big 12 first and foremost. Texas will get a chance to climb back up the rankings however, as they have a week 7 college football odds conference showdown against the No.5 Oklahoma State Cowboys (5-0, 2-0 Big 12), who just put up 70 points in their week-six game against Kansas.

Both of those teams won, but Oklahoma made a huge statement when they beat up on Texas to the tune of 55-17 in the Red River Shootout in a hostile environment in Dallas, Texas. The rest of the Top 10 remains unchanged and the next difference from last week sits with the Michigan Wolverines (6-0, 2-0 Big Ten), who jumped in after their big NCAA betting picks win over Northwestern and replaced Texas at the No.11 spot.

Falling out of the rankings were two schools from the state of Florida; the Florida Gators and the Florida State Seminoles. The Florida State Seminoles lost their third straight game last weekend when they were beaten by Wake Forest and it doesn’t look good for the Noles in the conference standings either, as they have now lost to Clemson and Wake Forest and for the first time in a long time, there are no Florida schools within the Top 25. South Florida fell out of the rankings last week and with the University of Miami nowhere near being ranked after another loss to Virginia Tech on Saturday, it leaves the state of Florida without a Top 25 ranked school since Dec. 6, 1982.

The other conference game to watch is in the Pac 12, where the No.18 Arizona State Sun Devils (5-1, 3-0 Pac-12) will take on the No.9 Oregon Ducks (4-1, 2-0 Pac-12) in a critical matchup at 10:15pm ET at Autzen Stadium. With these two teams performing at such a high level, the winner of this game could very well be the eventual winner of the Pac 12 and possibly earn a Rose Bowl bid. I like Oregon to take care of business at home though and perhaps knock the Sun Devils out of the Top 25. In the Big 12, No.20 Baylor (4-1, 1-1 Big 12) will face off against No.21 Texas A&M (3-2, 1-1 Big 12) at noon on Saturday. The winner of this game could be playing second fiddle to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, but this could come into play because if Baylor wins out and the Sooners and Cowboys each lose one along the way, it would make for a very interesting discussion amongst college football betting odds experts.
